If you're considering buying, you should hold off, do some serious research and avoid this particular one.
The lugs have been damaged and repaired, as many of those have been because this was a fragile alloy.
    Those should be fixed lugs.
Look at those bars sticking out and how the lug on the right hand side of the lower picture has been conveniently left blurry?

You'll find a lot of information on the web about their history -- they were used starting in 1940, by what was known back then as the "Air Ministry" - became RAF only later. Hence some of them are marked with the letters "AM".

They came in alloy cases but also in rare steel cases. (This one is alloy which is why it has suffered damage).
This dial could indeed have been repainted in black by the "MOD" (Ministry of defense) and those hands are indeed correct - on the original watch they would have been blued steel. This crown is a replacement, the original should be unsigned.

Various types of markings can be found inside and outside the case -- hence the potential for mismatches or fakes.

    Best regards

PS- I see this is your first post. "Hello, please and thank you" are appreciated. We're humans, not robots -- and we're not paid to answer anyone's questions.

And trying to sell it perhaps? :p

Well, if the damage has been done I would do some research on the case to ensure it is indeed correct — and if not try to return it.
Edit / Also need to make sure that lug which was left blurry is not terminally damaged and already about to break.

As many people would agree, not much right about this one - least of all the description.
