New to Omegas, recently received this as a gift. Can anyone provide me any more information besides it being a 1950s bumper automatic? Also, any recommendations for a different crystal? I’m not particularly fond of this one. Thank you

Four-digit eference number inside the case-back, movement caliber and serial number on the movement. Google omega serial number chart to get the approximate production year.

Thank you, definitely doing that now. From your expertise, are you familiar if these watches suppose to have this type of crystal? Not use to seeing crystals this thick

It's probably just a generic crystal. You can ask a watchmaker to look for a flatter crystal.

I agree, your watchmaker should be able to source a suitable low dome Omega crystal or a suitable generic.

Your 14 carat gold case was made for Omega by Manufacture Favre & Perret SA of La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.

Very interesting, had no idea and will read a bit about that now. Thank you!

Well, I would be quite fond of it if I had it.

Good looking watch, if you dont get a new crystal you could always grow tomatoes under there.😉
