Looking for a new home is this late 1940s Cyma Triplex with an unusual odd-numbered dial. The case is 32mm, with stainless bezel and back and plated midcase which shows a lot of wear. The crown is certainly a service replacement. The dial has a gorgeous, even golden patina with radium lume dots in great shape and a bit of oxidation on the edge between 3 and 5. The crown winds well and the hands set very smoothly. I love the way the golden dial patina matches the wear on the lugs. Really a cool-looking watch and an example of a very unusual design (we had a discussion about this style a while back - there don’t seem to be that many). Inside is a hand-wound Cyma/Tavannes Cal 162 movement. Comes on a lightly worn reddish-brown deBeers strap. This watch started running STUPID FAST a few months ago, like 8 minutes per hour fast. I have tried demagnetizing it, with no luck, so I’d guess there’s a problem with the hairspring, or maybe my cheap Chinese demagnetizer just doesn't work. I don’t care to drop the money for a full service on this piece, and my watchbox is very full, so I’m hoping to sell it as an project watch to someone who can get it working properly again. Again, note that this is a FIXER that is RUNNING REALLY FAST, so plan for a repair! Let’s start at $100 and see what happens. Reasonable offers or interesting trades welcome.
