·This is a watch I never thought I would sell. I like this watch not just because of what it is, but also because I bought it from an equally lovely OF member. However it’s high time for a rotation in my watch closet.
So here on offer is a Tissot handwound watch from the 1940s or early 1950s, offering a beautiful capuccino colored dual tone dial with shimmery reflections, lovely chubby “deco” numbers, quality screwback steel case with a pleasing slightly stepped bezel, and shockprotected “antimagnetic” handwound movement.
Tissot watches from that era pack up a lot of value for the money as this one evidences. As far as I can tell it’s all original and unmessed with.
The dial has imperfections which can be seen on the pictures, however it has the beautiful sheen of the silver coated dials of that era. As usual the pictures do not do it justice and it looks much better in real life.
The 35mm steel case and 18mm lugs width offer respectable
wrist presence for the era.
The handwound caliber has not been timed and its service history is unknown. It has kept empirically great time on my wrist on the few occasions I wore the watch but is sold as customary without any guarantee for the future.
The case has a scratch on the back which is relatively superficial and somewhat unobtrusive due to its placement. It can be noticeable or not depending on the angle, and pictures as always emphasize the flaws.
Last but not least, this has great provenance as it was sold to me by fellow forum member @ConElPueblo.
I would love for the watch to stay as we say in the OF family, so contributing members will be given preference.
I’d like 250 euros net to me.
The watch and I are in Paris, EU deals are preferred.
shipment costs to be added for shipment via international registered mail, with tracking and signature, usually 15 euros within Europe/ 25 euros outside- to be confirmed depending on the country you live in.
Payment via Paypal “trusted person / friends or family”,
regular Paypal feasible with known members +4%.
Returns accepted after 3 days inspection within EU if the watch is significantly not as described.
The watch will come with the new vintage pigskin strap shown in the pictures.
