    I picked up these two Longines at a NAWCC show this morning. The one on the left is a common gold filled model from 1948, with a faceted crystal. I paid $75 for it. The other is a 1925 sterling silver model with a 7 jewel, 3 adjustment movement. I paid $240 for it. Unfortunately, they both need a servicing. The 1925 is running super fast, and can't be adjusted. Any additional information on the 1925 model would be appreciated. I don't see any remains of lume, so could there possibly have been some at one point?

    When the number of adjustments approaches 50% of the jewel count, you definitely have an interesting movement! :rolleyes:

    The one on the left has a 9L, a really fine movement with Breguet hairspring. I think it is absolutely worth what you paid ;)

    I always find good buys at the nawcc shows, maybe not exactly what I was looking for, but couldn't turn these down.

    I haven't measured it, but that looks to be about the size. The 1925 seems to be running about 2 hours fast per day. :( Maybe it's magnetized?

    What deals! Glad I wasn’t there; at those prices, I’d be buying stuff I didn’t need all day. Whew! Great scores.

    @knafel1983 :
    I see enamel dials like this and assume that, at some service long ago, the radium lume was washed off for ‘safety’ issues or for appearance, as deterioration gets worse. Anecdotally, I see these dials more frequently than nice enamel dials with intact radium lume. I’m betting that a good Geiger counter would still pick up traces despite washing.

    I’d also assume the hands on this watch aren’t correct. But, I’ve become convinced you are more knowledgeable than me, certainly on Longines. What do you think?

    I love the 9L movements.
