Price is £18,000

Omega Speedmaster BA145.022-69 on 18kt Bracelet
With Omega Extract showing delivery to Taiwan, 9th April 1970
Serviced by Simon Freese Watchmakers, with 18 month warranty

This watch has a DN90 bezel This watch was released in 1970 when Stainless Speedmasters had a DN90. I can say that I would prefer the DO90 bezel, but as this watch carries the second dial version and the bezel is aged then I accept this bezel, but lower the overall value. Hence this watch is not £25,000.

Crown and pushers are original

My lighting picks up every tiny mark. In general the case is in very good condition.

These watches are extremely difficult to photograph. Bracelet is in good condition - and has the correct clasp.

This is numbered 933 shown on the case back, toward the end of the production.

Provenance

Bought by me in Hong Kong from a private collector in 2012. Kept in a temperature and humidity controlled storage since. Recently serviced, so I could sell it with confidence. Extract of the Archives just issued showing delivery 9th April 1970 to Taiwan.

You can read all about this very special speedmaster here

Why am I selling?
Because I cannot justify two of them, and I have just acquired a one owner barn-find example.

SALES TERMS

I only sell to refocus my collection.

I am not motivated by profit alone and so I have no reason to embellish or over describe. I have been on ebay since 2002 with 100% feedback. I have bought and sold a few watches on www.OmegaForums.net and you can find my feedback by searching my username. I am the author of www.Speedmaster101.com and protecting my reputation comes first.

Ideally this would be a face to face, but otherwise I will arrange delivery in UK or USA, and the cost will be around £120 insured.

Returns are welcome if you don’t cost me anything to get it back to me and the watch is in the same condition as it arrived with you.

I am a private collector who rarely sells. When I do, most of the time my watches sell very quickly, and to the first person that PM’s me with the words, “I will buy this watch now at your price”.

I believe in full disclosure.

In the past several people have been upset because although they are the first to reply, they ask if I can do a better price – meanwhile someone has agreed my price.

I am not in the slightest bit offended by offers, but remember that they will only make sense if the watch remains unsold after a few days.

Delivery can usually be facilitated almost anywhere

Payment
Payment by Bank Transfer is preferred for these larger amounts to my HSBC bank in Hong Kong in Pounds or US dollars or Hong Kong Dollars. (Not Euros sorry). I propose we both exchange ID copies and speak by phone to feel comfortable. Face to face with cash is always welcome.

Awesome watch, your amazing barn find is now someone's good luck as they get to own this amazing watch. GLWS, not that you'll need it. I'm glad you're selling just because you posted all these pictures from lots of different angles showing such a rare piece.

The light outside is dull and grey.....absolutely perfect for watch shots.
First, on the wrist:

And now on a post, which is by coincidence exactly the same age as the watch:

A word on the dial.

I did not know until recently this reference was made with two different dial variations. This is detailed in the MWO book and once I saw it I easily recognised this dial as the second generation, which makes sense as it is near the end of the production, it fits that is has the slightly later (correct) dial.

Here is a shot adjusted for white balance - this watch is a very difficult thing to capture the colour:

Good Lord! That is an extremely beautiful watch! The colour contrasts between the dial, hands and bezel are perfect.🥰

Here is the watch set on the MWO page showing the dial style as the later, correct dial. The watch on the page is no 851 and the FS watch is 933 out of 1014 watches.

The bezel is as I have said an omega service bezel and the watch is priced acordingly.

A great opportunity for someone in the USA! The gold, burgandy and black are an amazing colour combination. Fantastic contrasts that make this Speedmaster an extremely beautiful watch.🥰 I love it!
