This was actually a bit of a surprise because I was sure this watch, an OT2872 was 18K yellow gold, but comparing it to my yellow gold models it is without a doubt rose gold rather than yellow, and in the flesh it looks simply stunning!

I'm going to take it down to the local vintage watch dealer and get them to install a new strap as I'm not willing to scratch it up myself.

Preview pics below, more to come later once its on its strap ;)

Oh, that's achingly lovely! and I didn't appreciate the vertical grain in the dial finish in previous photos. I love the little paper plane markers.

You're right...let them scratch it up for you! (I kid, I kid)

Now that is what I call a beautiful watch. Don't forget we need the compulsory wrist shots as soon as you're back from the jewellers !

Have to tell you something, this thing IMO looks better in person than my Constellation De Luxe and possibly better than the SMPP. The size seems a little bigger but its still very thin, its a remarkably balanced size. There's a lot I like about this piece, but even better is that inside there's that Calibre 320 movement, which I'm guessing was made in far fewer numbers than the Cal 321, and not having an hour register, will never experience the creeping issue ;)

Stunning watch, glad you got it back without any problems. Just put tape on the back of the lugs and you should be good to go changing the strap.

Ah, but while I have straps spare, I don't have any spare springbars unfortunately so I'll need to buy a new strap with some bars from the dealers too ;)

Just send it to me, and I will install a strap for you. I have lots of spare 18mm spring bars and straps. I'd get it back to you....eventually.... ;)

Haha I'll be right mate, going to get one at lunch in a couple hours and drop my Daytona off for a clean and polish at the same time. With the Daytona getting serviced I'll finally get to wear some of my other watches ;)

I consider Queensland a country in its own right though, sort of like Texans do ;)

Dude! I'm glad you actually got it back. Looks fantastic!

It's experience some creep each time the owner straps it on. :p

    ::rimshot::

    Beat me to it.

That watch needs a Kelaran matt gator.

The rose gold is a total surprise but I'm so happy with it, the thing is I was under the impression that the OT prefix to OT2872 meant 18K Yellow Gold, but there seem to be many with the OT prefix that are rose gold too

BB and BP were specifically used to denoted 18ct pink gold. OT is more general.

Well, slight downer... started stopped and reset the chronograph a few times and it was fine, then started it and ran it for 10 minutes, and now it wont stop. The start pusher won't click and the reset does nothing, so the chrono is running perpetually now...

Wasn't this just serviced? That's why I like having my watchmaker's shop 10 minutes from my house - convenient for revisions and the zillion small jobs I ask him to do for me.
