    Hi Everyone,

Recently an 18k 2627 seamaster (cal 353) popped up near me and I wanted to get some opinions before a purchase. Love the look and the date at 6 but wanted to find out what the perceived value is, I haven’t seen any 18k for sale anywhere reputable so I’m not sure. Images attached, not the greatest but what was supplied. 02A786D6-9B69-451D-A7C6-11134F6CA5A9.png 0F24393A-97AA-4976-9623-E2B2AF3F5130.png

This just came back up and I was hoping some of you could give me a bit of help determining if it’s a good purchase or not

Edit: sorry for the absolutely terrible images. If anyone says its worth going to check out in person I can probably get some better shots

Dial looks good. The rest is hard to tell. Obviously it also depends on cost.

Max price is around 2000CAD so 1500 USD. I feel like I might be able to get it for less after inspecting the insides. I just have no idea what the general price of an 18k version of this runs for. I see them as high as 4500USD but havent seen one at auction to get a better idea of what people are willing to pay.

Expand your search to all pre-1960 Seamasters on eBay. I think you’ll find very few solid 18K examples that actually sold for less than US$1,500.

If you can get a few bucks off by negotiating, great.
