    Hi all,

It's been a while since I've been on the forum (finished grad school, new job, moved, baby on the way...)

Anyway, I spotted locally what appears to be a very nice jumbo Constellation, bumper, with a crisp solid 18k case, and original (not pie pan) dial. I want to figure out what a fair offer price is, but can't seem to find what the case reference should be. I'm sure one of you guys know off the top of your head...

Sorry for no pictures, I didn't sneak one when I was there. Hopefully I may be in the position to take some on my wrist... ;)

    Thanks in advance!

A 18K constellation powered by a bumper should be in 1K to 4K range. And you said it's a jumbo, it will be a bit cheaper because it's a fake.

Hmmm, maybe not "jumbo"? Definitely appeared bigger than my 168.005...

Reminds me of the rose gold-capped / textured dial Connie that Kyle had... Except it had a champagne cross-hair dial. Everything really looked good to me (dial text, case), though I certainly don't consider myself an expert.

I know, I know, maybe I'll try to sneak there during lunch one day next week and steal a pic, I really wasn't expecting to run into it in the wild.

Got a closer look today - not a jumbo, it's 35mm (looked big at first), but on closer inspection I think it might be a (pretty good) redial. Minute markers don't follow the slope of the dome, but look like they're trying to emulate a pie pan shape, Swiss Made on either side of the 6 o'clock marker rather than below, and maybe fails the MOY test... I also think the bezel is supposed to have more of a bevel / peak, so it looks like its been polished.

Picture of the dial isn't great because of the glare on the crystal...

Yep, looks like one. Unless it's super cheap I would pass.

Its a 2782 with a refinished dial and a not to sharp case. Caseback medallion has wear too. Careful you dont pay too much for this one.

    Cheers

Yeah, I'm not paying anything for it.

It's scary though, I seem to be worse at quickly spotting redials in person versus in pictures. My first impression when I saw it in the case the first time was that it was good, it really took a close look to start seeing the issues...

Ha. you keep picking the ones with the wrong
    color tension ring.
Aj, the crap has been polished out of this one.
Plus the dial is not original.
    Pass buddy
