Up for sale is a 1970/1971 Omega Constellation in a full 18k gold British case. The watch is in very good condition and runs and functions as it should. It comes with its original papers and some insurance estimates from across the years. It appears all original with signed Omega 18k gold case, Omega crown and crystal. It is also fitted with an Omega Montal rolled gold buckle. The 18k pie pan dial is in stunning condition with no noteable flaws. The hands show some slight tarnish. The British made Schackman case is hallmarked 1971 and shows it was made in London. The case is crisp and defined but may have been polished at some point. The medallion on the caseback is crisp and well defined. The inner caseback is marked OMEGA WATCH CO with the Schackman hallmark and stamped 1685004 OWC with the hallmarks of the British Crown, 18k and London 1971. There are multiple service marks. From a paper on British gold cased Constellations by Andrew Romaine “…The only other Constellation case design that Dennison’s produced was the 168.5004 – the hidden crown model which is virtually identical to the Swiss case 168.0004 that Omega introduced in 1962. The Dennison version was introduced in around 1963 and was in production until 1967. Shackman also manufactured this case design after Dennison went out of business in Feb 1967. As with the Swiss version, this Constellation looks larger than it is thanks to the thin bezel and hidden crown.” The Calibre 564 movement is marked 32996700 and dates to 1970. It is in very good condition and runs and keeps time. As it’s service history is unknown it is recommended to be serviced.
