An old problem. My OB told they had not had any problems with the 3861 in any watches this year.
That might be your OB's experience but it certainly isn't the experience of some owners on this forum. The Speedy Pro with 3861 only just came out at the start of this year and if you search this forum you can see that it's not an "old problem". I hear Omega is in the process of implementing a fix which is great. However, if I was in the market for a Speedy Pro 3861 I'd hold off for another year or two. Just my 2 cents.

As long as the 3861 is working fine with or if any issues ironed out, it should be more accurate.

Agree, but I was interested to receive a regulated FOIS back from Omega last week that is running at .6 spd (tested as such and has kept that rate since its return) suggesting that the 1861 is capable of better accuracy across several positions than I'd imagined. Whether it can maintain it longer term and across various conditions will be the question, I guess.

I was really looking forward to finally seeing the new Speedies, and wasn't disappointed. They're superb. But there are plenty of reasons to love the 1861-based models, including the proven movement and a substantial price differential. I'm not planning to "upgrade" anytime soon.

Do you have evidence of this or just making it up? The 3861 is based on the 1873 so is better finished than the 1861 and it has more jewels, plus the added advantage of Co-Axial. I can attest that my 3861 is much more accurate than my previous 1861's.

Not sure what the goal is with those comments, but to suggest that creating a new movement is less costly than continuing to make one that has been around for decades, ignores reality completely...
