I'm new to vintage omegas and I should have done some research beforehand but I saw the watch and put in a bid. I didn't expect to win but I did so I own it now. For $1,400 how did I do? good, ok, or poorly?

Thank, I honestly didn't know. I know that the price was good compared to other ebay listings, but l'm still learning so I don't know how to spot redials, tell the condition of the movement, etc. Your words are encouraging, every thing on the watch looks good to you?

 

OK, it's not mint, but the dial looks very good and the case is OK. What I like is that it has the original bracelet with the correct end pieces. They are difficult to source.

The movement look good too, and if the seller is honest about the service that he says have been done, then it shall function properly also, keeping time and all chrono functions working. And that is of course important, that you don't have to factor in watchmaker services at once.

I bought a very good Seamaster 1040 last year head only for USD 700 and considered that a bargain

I was watching that one, and that price is right in line with the market IMO. Nice wearable vintage condition- it will look good on the wrist but it isn't a safe queen that you'd be afraid to wear. I have the same dial/hands combo. Welcome to Club 007!
