Hello everybody,

I was wondering why some of the Speedmaster’s designs reduced with reference 175.0032 have the serial engraved onto the exterior of the case back, while others do not. Am I wrong for assuming that number is the serial? Where else would you find that number for this reference?

Hello,

From what I’ve seen, the early production of the reduced do not have a serial number engraved. Instead, the serial number is on the inside and is printed like so :
These prints can easily be removed if cleaning solution like isopropyl or even soap is used.
This is simply how it used to be done.

After that, the serial number was moved to the outside and is engraved.

Thank you so much, makes sense. Also, if possible, could you please assess this one I have been looking like. What do you think of it, I am a bit confused by how clean the clasp is and the case-back, due to its age. Serviced end of 2025. Seller asking 2500.
