Looking for some advice - mainly to find out if I'm crazy. I have a beautiful 1680, dated to 1978 so it's a birth year too.
I love the patina and I love the blue that the bezel has become. I hate the lack of a quick set date.
Value wise it's on a par with some Kermit and most Hulks.
I've always loved the Rolex green. Would I be made to trade the 1680 for an LV?

That's a very nice 1680, I personally wouldn't trade it for either one.

    Here's my '78.

The Hulk is an amaizing everyday piece which will keep you in ore of its ever changing colours and practical bezel. The Kermit I would say wears very similar to what you are used to, and has a good historic value. Not quite the beauty of the hulk, slightly, could I say "bland" in comparison, and wears more vintage and a little "clinky" but that's it's style and is worth a purchase.
    Daily wearer: Hulk
    Historic Investment: Kermit
    IMO

The birth year 1680 is the one to keep when comparing to the Hulk or Kermit.

I would not trade it, honestly and just stay as it is.

I wouldn’t. I love the Kermit and had one but grew tired of it (I find the 16710 much more interesting visually). That’s a beauty you have there and a special piece because of birth year. I think in the long run you would regret letting it go....

Hers a Big Fat Four LV in all its glory for comparison , not mine by the way . And even though I own a LV ,I really don't get the hype as all LVs are 50th sub anniversary refs . image.jpeg

Think I prefer the engraved rehaut, as it's bring the 2 LV pieces together. Not that I'm biased at all! :)

I’m with you on the insert. I hate the engraved rehaut though.

In real life of wearing the watch , you probably wouldn't even give the rehaut a second glance.
