Hello, I stumbled on this one on eBay (made an offer that was accepted, yay!) and had it delivered on time to be under the Christmas tree. Here are some pictures, "as-is": The dial is hard to reproduce correctly without a light box, it is grey/silverish, slightly shiny with a light circular brushing. I saw a grey dial on ebay/Italy months ago, but I don't think a saw a dial such as mine after a few days worths of browsing through pictures from this forum and google. 168.023/166.032 have mostly sparkle dials or white dials, it seems. Movement is clean and shiny, case is mostly OK, bracelet has more links than needed, it will be a stunner after some crystal polishing (it's an original one) and thorough cleaning. I must admit, I'm quite pleased with myself , and I will try to take better pictures after I polish the crystal. I also could use some help to identify the bracelet, it bears no reference number. Endlinks are 547s. I read this excellent thread https://omegaforums.net/threads/fro...ge-seamaster-and-speedmaster-bracelets.45883/ , nothing looks exactly like mine. Any comment is welcome! EDIT: a picture of the clasp:
For some reason, a search using 166.032 instead of 168.023 yielded more results: here are some other ones, mostly in Italy sold on ebay, for reference. I wonder how I managed to miss such a wonderful dial variation . Nothing on the bracelet for now though.
Awesome watch! I just got the same watch back from service with the Italian date wheel and everything. The bracelet was a little small...extremely tight on my 7 inch wrist. It looks like it may be a little different than yours though. I have no idea if it is original to the watch, but every example of this reference that I have seen has come with this bracelet. Here are some photos.
Well yours is a 1098, and I think it may be original as there is an omega document floating around that says it is to be mounted to those references. I wonder if I may have an early version of the 1098?
I’m fairly new to the watch hobby, so I can’t help you there. Either way, I kind of like your bracelet more! Enjoy the watch.
I've been wearing mine (166.032) for the past week and I love it. It's a nice variation to the more common "sparkle" dial versions.
Sorry for resurrecting this old thread. I happen to have the same 19mm bracelet and end links. The clasp is also the same including all markings (but no bracelet code). “Open” marks on the bracelet are also present. I’ve been looking as well for information but couldn’t find many online. I was told that the bracelet was never replaced since the watch was purchased in Italy in 1969/70. @S.H. did you ever managed to discover more about this bracelet?
