    Hello,
I bought this Constellation a few days ago. The crystal was in a really bad condition with scratches and the case dirty, but now it’s better.
What do you think about the dial. Is it original?
I know that the crown isn’t.
The hands don’t match the dial because there isn’t a t after Swiss made. Is that true?
    Thank you.

Yes it’s a very nice original dial.
The dial doesn’t contain lume so no T’s is correct for this reference.
The hands are wrong they should have black infill (not lume) to match the markers.
Only a watch nerd would notice but if it bothers you I am sure you could have them redone to match.

Thank you so kindly for the response. Do you think it’s possible to find the right hands for the dial? The one with the onyx. Do you know where to look? Or is the only way to go to have them redone?

These pie pan hands are difficult to come by. It’s possible with patience to find them on eBay but not guaranteed.
You could try messaging rich_2002 on eBay, he sometimes has a good selection of NOS hands.

    Hi Plantan,
as pointed out by @Noddyman the dial is in excellent original condition, congrats!!
Same could be true for the case, lugs look quite good although its not easy to see from this one picture.
If you like you can post some more pictures of the watch :)

    Thank you!
Here are some pictures with the new crown and a brand new hirsch strap. I also ordered new hands with the black inserts. I think it’s looks great!
What do you think about the case?

Case is maybe not in excellent but still in very good condition,
crown looks very good on it and with the machting hands you'll have a very good pie pan connie! :)
    Enjoy wearing it!

    Thanks!
What do you think it’s worth? I will give it a service by a professional watchmaker.
But my intention is to have it for many years.

Before you decide where to service a watch you have to be aware of some things:

Giving the watch to a Offical Omega dealer means that a lot of original parts will be replaced by new ones in order to create a kind of "New" condition.

Most people here think that this would destroy the character and also the value of the watch in terms of being original.

If you search the forum you will find some independent watchmakers who try to preserve the vintage character of a watch.

If you are unshure about what to do you can send me a PM and I can let you know watchmakers who already worked for me.

Prices are always difficult to estimate for me, look at ebay in the "sold" section for the reference 168.005 or here in "private watch sales"

Even with the wrong lume that one is a stunner! I'd wear it as is and just keep on the look out for a correct set of hands.

I would advise against sending it to Omega for a service, instead find a reputable watchmaker to service it. I don't think you'll find anyone on OF that would recommend sending it in to Omega.

Thank you for your opinions, I appreciate that.
The watchmaker I’m leaving it to is an expert in vintage Omega’s so I think he will give it the proper care.
I really love this watch so it’s definitely a keeper.

BOR bracelets are quite plentiful. They come up on the sales forums here and eBay quite frequently.

    Some are.

There are plenty of genuine ones for sale.

Several threads on fake/aftermarket bracelets on this forum.

Thank you so much! But the 1037 bracelet is not for the 168.005? Am I right? I’ve been told it’s the 1502 that’s the one for my watch.
