    Hello OF

I have incoming 1675 Gilt Chapter Ring PCG, I need more eyes to check :)
Based on my homework, the serial number 693xxx is from 1961, which is correct for this PCG gilt chapter ring.

Date wheel has closed 6,9 and hooked 7.

Case looks healthy and thick even lugs.
Dial looks like a correct character for gilt dial from 1961.
Insert is also looks original, fat font, faded nicely.

    Pictures below

PS: a friend gave me concerns about dial lume markers not fully filling the ring markers

But then I looked at this: http://www.sheartime.com/product/1960-rolex-gmt-master-ref-1675
    IMG_8634.JPG

Looks quite similar with the incoming one, but please do let me know if I missed anything

    Thanks!!

In my very non-expert opinion, the lume dots have shrunk as they aged, hence the appearance of not filling up their markers..
Otherwise, excuse me while I look for my eyeballs...they popped out of their sockets so far after seeing this specimen. lol

Haha no... just the 2, sold my other 3 though (Redsub,1675 Mk2, Lemania), so keeping good balance, I am also still thinking about this GMT,

The thing is, I think 2 Rolex is enough, the 14060 I have and the 1016, won't need the third as of now

if i were you, i'd have this over something more common like 14060 anytime.
me, alas, i can't afford a piece like this. a 1675 one day, sure. just not one as imperial as this.

14060 is basically my beater, wear it to swim, snorkel, biking, the only watch I can wear for these occasions

But great input, thanks! will definitely think about it

Aha! I totally understand the need for a beater. Mine is 114300 gray, does the job great.
Well, you just might have to bite the bullet and add #3, if the mrs. doesnt throw you out, that is...

    Hi,
I like the look of it.
    Hands should be gilt.
For such a watch you really should have the dial checked on VRF.
Not doing could reveal very painful in the future.
I hope everything will check out all right.
    I am jealous.

In the Sheartime example there is an open 6 date ring.

    Pre-1963, should be open 6/9. 1963-1970 hooked 7/closed 6/9. 1970-mid 1980s, open 6/9, closed on 26.
Not written in stone, and there's always couple years plus/minus leeway on any given specimen.

Thanks Mounir, indeed, I am checking the dial with multiple sources

Correct, this is 1961 example, it has closed 6,9 and hooked 7
