The omega vintage data base says 167.005 is a gold capped watch. Constellation Omega 1962 CD 167.0005 This example was looks good to me, but clearly has only ever been steel.
According to the list provided my Desmond in his Constellation blog, 167.005 was produced in Yellow gold, pink gold, and stainless steel. So everything is OK Some SS 167.005s around with Piepan and normal dial, some already sold in OF If you don't know Desmonds blog yet, here it is: http://omega-constellation-collectors.blogspot.de/ You will find there (nearly) everything on classic connies
The Omega vintage database is known to have missing data, so taking references such as Desmond's blog gives real world data.
