Hi all

Can I have your opinion in this 1993 16610 tritium dial? It comes with original bracelet. I think it has checked all the boxes? But any thing out of ordinary? Do you think it was polished? It waa offered by an old watchmaker, he serviced it and will provide 10 year warranty (including future service). No paper just box.

Sorry for the shaking photos.

Thanks alot

Looks to be in fairly good condition. Also looks to have been polished a bit as the lugs looks a bit thinner than factory original, and the facets aren’t that clear and the brushing has faded but it’s hard to see in that lightning. Nothing too serious though by the looks of it. From the photos it looks like a nice and clean example.

Thank you asking price is 8k a bit too much for me if not a full set 🙁

There's not lots of value added with just a box only, but the movement has been fully serviced. This along with Togri's condition assessment, I think $8k USD is on the higher side with an average price many hundreds less from a dealer and even further less from a private sale.

I would agree. Many 16610’s from the 90’s around.

I wouldn't for 8k, and agree with the assessment provided

I recently saw a true full set NOS 16610 in the 9K range (now sold) so I think the asking price is out of step with that and others I have seen. Perhaps make a counteroffer

Looks fine, but nothing special, modestly polished. It's an extremely common reference, and $8k is a high ask from a private seller with no papers. $7k would be top dollar for me, but honestly I prefer 14060s, and I am seeing nice ones from the 1990s popping up with prices close to $6k. The market is flooded. While prices for really collectible watches seem to be COVID-proof, pre-owned (classic/neo-vintage) watches like these are plummeting in value.

This sounds like fake news. Condition is still everything.

Not sure I understand the comment, and it is also extremely rude. Condition is still everything, and prices are also dropping. You may not agree, but that is my opinion based on my observations of the 14060 market; I have no skin in the game. Six months ago, $7k barely bought you an acceptable example from a private seller. Now you can get a decent 1990s 14060 from a dealer for that amount, and private sellers are dropping their prices into the low $6ks.

I don’t disagree that there’s been a dip in prices but to state that “watches like these are plummeting in value” is a bit of an overstatement. Also, since when is disagreeing with someone considered extremely rude?

If it’s the “fake news” comment - hell my wife and I say that to each other frequently when calling each other out lol

Definitely some drop in price in general, condition or not. I have been eyeing a full set 16610 or 14060 tritium for a while now.

Thank you for all of the feedbacks

Honestly I do not see any drop in prices for correct watches in very good conditions... average pieces are suffering

If you check watchrecon.com there is a 16610 tritium with papers for $6799 from a dealer who’s very active on TRF.
