166.070 Gold Plated Case

Hi there, First post here.
I have managed to break a lug off a 166.070 gold plated case (Geneve) and I am told that it's impossible to repair.
Couple of question have I been told rubbish here? can it be repaired and does anyone know a UK person that can do that?
If a no go - would anyone have for sale a case I could transplant the watch into

The cost would be more than a new watch would cost. And I mean 'new' watch. Repairing this would cost thousands or be a labor of love which would take months if not years of time, and the results would be less than satisfactory.

I speak from experience. I am a sucker for such basket cases, what I call rat watches. But they sell for less than the sum of the parts.

Without more context, it's hard to provide useful advice. When I look at a gold-plated Geneve with a dirty dial and a broken case, I see a donor for movement parts. Not something to restore.

if you are intrested in getting it restored you will need to look at lazer welding
