    hi everyone,

I just acquired a 165.024 and all the hallmarks of the watch being legit seemed dead on.

However, one thing I overlooked was the watch crystal.

The crystal definitely has the logo etched onto the centre.

However, it's not a "super" domed crystal. I think it's what is referred to as a smooth domed crystal.

Anyone know if the 165.024 should have a super dome (or top hat crystal) or did they come with either/or.

Please provide some more info on your watch, do you have a serial number or year for your watch?
If possible, try to catch a picture of the logo on the crystal as this can tell us something if it’s age and originality.

Here’s first a picture of a service crystal on a -64, you see a slight dome on the shape, and a original -68 that has a “flat-top” crystal.

    Hi JanV

My watch has a 24- serial, which should date the watch to 1966. The bezel is also period correct for a '66 as well.

The crystal is like the '68 you posted (flat top) However, it sits a little lower than the one you posted.

I guess the reason for my question is - I prefer the domed crystal and am considering changing it. But I'm not sure if I should?
