Part 3 of 4 will be the Seamaster family and should come out on Thursday.

The final part will be weird stuff, and will be next Tuesday.

That’s a very cool set, the lemania racing on the left looks like a metallic brown dial, that’s an option I haven’t seen ever before, do you think you could post some more front on photos of that watch?

Our journey into the Chronostop model lines ventures into Italy with the Chronostop Pentatlon, also known as the Chronostop Fontana, and the little known Lemania Racing & De Ville variants of this case design. [..]

Hi Ashley

Since I suspect there are few people who know more about the Chronostop than you, I will address this technical question to you. I very recently acquired a 145.009 with the standard dial orientation. It runs quite well on the timegrapher, but I still intend to have it serviced before wearing it regularly. I was re-reading your review of the model and I realized that my pusher only executes two functions, not three. The first push starts the chrono hand, and the second push resets it....foregoing the "stop" function. Is this a common problem, and would you know which components are responsible for the failure? I ask, because I would like to source the part(s) before I send it to my watchmaker. I appreciate you taking the time to entertain this request, thank you.

Sorry mate I’ve written it slightly incorrectly there and will need to correct it, from memory you press to start, then when you want to stop it you press and hold the pusher which lets you read the time off, then when you release it, it should fly back to the start waiting for the next run. So the “Hold” of the pusher is how you stop, and it should reset on release rather than it being a distinct press.

Hi Ashley

Thank you for the update! It works exactly as you just described, and a huge relief for me. You are the most significant figure in the Omega enthusiast world as far as I am concerned. I read all your articles, and always learn more than I anticipated. Take care.

Na mate I’m just someone who spends a lot of time learning, reading, trying out unusual watches and writing about them periodically, there are some really important figures in that space including several of our moderators like Bill & Mike and some incredible writers like Erich and the MWO authors, I’m just doing my thing on the edges.

I am sure you know the inner space of that world far better than I, so Bill, Mike, Erich, and the MWO authors will be subjects of my research agenda. I must say, you are very humble for someone who seems to be the face of OmegaForums. Good on you

Hi....new here... got a question about changing the date.....what is meant by No Quick Set Date ??...... does this mean I have to wind through a whole month to adjust the date ?

I'm asking as I bought an "Italian" Lemania grey dial on a whim without doing any research ,,,,, and want know if it needs attention - supposedly unworn example

Non-quickset means that you have to run the hands through as many days as is needed to get the date right. It can be a bit annoying, what I tend to do is just wait until the date is close to the date the watch stopped at to maximizes my laziness

Thank you for your answer, puts my mind at rest thinking I’d bought a broken one …..watch that looks so good with so many operating weird things ie Chronostop that doesn’t actually stop to be read, a date that requires 5 mins to set ….ohh well at least it looks FAB
