1479/812 Links question

Hi All!

I have a 3592.50 incoming. The bracelet's too short and I need about an inch's worth of links for it. So here's my questions: what is the width of these links (16mm?) and are there any other bracelet's links that would fit? For example, at least superficially, the 1469 links look the same. Now they may be a different width, or the pin holes might not line up the same way (and, yeah, I know the end links are completely different, but I don't need those), but if the actual links are the same, just with a different part number, that could be something to look for.

And the other question is: how many links do I need for 7/8" or an inch? I've heard "two" but it seems like they're more like a quarter inch (6mm), instead of a half (12mm). (sorry that I'm mixing metric and imperial units here)

Watch is literally in hand now. Any ideas on whether other links can substitute for 1479 links? Or if $80-100 is the current price for these?
