Has anyone seen those fixed sprinbars on a Speedmaster Professional before?

I have seen similar ones on issued SM 300.

I don't think they are fixed. It's the kind of springbars that are not supposed to come loose. Some people use then if they have a nato or some other fabric strap. You have to cut the spring bar to remove it.

If it's fixed, it's not a spring bar. 😵‍💫
And no, haven't seen that before.

I have seen one before, but it was just a custom job done for the previous owner...not the work of Omega or the MOD...

They look pretty well in there and of quite a large diameter.

Check with a loupe if they are welded in.

I don‘t have it. The picture was taken from a local auction site.

I have had those 'unremovable bars' a couple of times on watches I bought.

And I used to eliminate them exactly like @kopykat stated above.

Thanks for your input. Appreciate it. I never came across this type fixed bars before.

They are not fixed - the type is typically called "shoulderless" springbars, these just have a tube that is the same length as the distance between the lugs. I call them suicide springbars, at least when they are put on watches without lug holes, for which they are actually brilliant. A shame they seem to be difficult to find for sale as I'd love to have some for my Certina DS'.

My 145.012-67 with omega corfam has also this non-springbars. Did Omega delivered the watches with already mounted straps or was this a job of the jewelers?

We've already established that the "non-springbars" are actually springbars intended for watches with drilled through lugs.

It's highly unlikely that Omega would fit them to lugs with blind holes, more than likely somebody has used them because they were handy.

I install them on my SMP 300 in the summer because I wear nato’s during the hot months. In the fall I cut them out and install omega oem spring bars and put the metal band back on. I get them through marathon watch company. They are great for nato’s. Stainless steel and they don’t fail. And a previous poster is correct, they are called shoulderless spring bars. I used them a lot e when I was in the army. I put them in my seiko divers and field watches and didn’t have any issues.

I bought a vintage Seamaster with a nice BOR bracelet that had been installed with shoulderless springbars. In this case it is not easy to cut them out. My poor, patient, and talented had to remove them using a tiny little file.

How long did it take? Man someone didn’t want that bracelet off or that was all they had.

I am not sure how long it took, I think he charged me $60 to get out the two springbars. I am not sure how he did it without making a single mark on the lugs it the bracelet. God only knows why the previous owner put them there in the first place.

Wow, I can't even imagine how thin the tool was that was able to squeeze in the gap
