    Hi Guys
I have the opportunity to buy a 145.022-78 with 1171 bracelet and 633 ends. Serial # checks out at 44m which is spot on according to SM101 (not so for Chromomaddox which puts 44m as 1980). The dial is crisp and has an even, albeit light patina across the dial and hand set. The watch is in absolutely time warp mint condition... almost too good!? The case back writing is still fully blacked. There are virtually no scrapes or dings. There are no B&P to speak of which is a shame. The dealer bought from 'family member'... I have asked if he can find out more from the seller because it looks like its been in a drawer for ever! I'd be very interested to get your opinion on this late date stamped Speedy? Should I go for it and is the price right at £3250?
    Thanks
    Nick

Snap it up. There's 6-7 crappy 78s on eBay at the moment going for $5k--$7.5k.

there’s virtually no patina, which might be odd for a 40yr old watch. But for that price: sold!

A -78 in the 5k range? A sign of the times I guess.
