Hi guys, I was looking at this vintage speedmaster on eBay and just wanted some opinions. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/282667608515?ul_noapp=truePurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network From what I can tell it is either a parts watch, or a 1974 speedmaster (as per caseback and movement serial *potentially*) with an earlier B2 dial (the close t's) that has been fitted to an 861 movement. Did they make narrow T transitional dials (145.022-68), and could this dial have originally belonged to one of those? And as parts what do you think the value is of the package? Thanks, Ed
I personally have never seen one and think your first assumption is correct. Value as parts? I wouldn't want the hassle you can potentially have with this one.
I don't believe it's a 68 dial. Could be a 105.012 321 dial altered to fit the 861 movement. Interesting that the parts pic doesn't show the back of the dial. Could also be a service dial perhaps
Looks like an early narrow T dial with step to me. Mish mash of parts? Franken? Serviced -74 with wrong dial put back in?
At best it's a -74 with some kind of service dial (or redial) - movement serial is in range for a -74 - but easily also could be a complete put-together
It looks like a 105.012 dial for the 321 which most likely means the dial feet are missing since they aren't compatible with 861 movements.
