The hands on my 145.022-74 have me stumped. Are they tritium or maybe late tritium serviced??

These hands have the texture and look of tritium but glow on a full charge for at least 5 minutes plus...

I associate super-luminova with that brighter minty green like these from a current for sale listing in the next photo:

Could these be Service hands? Lume aside, they’re in remarkably good condition for 40+ years.

    Hi,

Difficult to say from the picture. They could be late tritium hands but the fact that they glow for 5 minutes (quite a long time) makes me think it's Luminova.

I am leaning towards late service or possibly a watch kept in non humid conditions and hasn’t seen much sunlight in decades. Definitely not minty green but a more off white.

Like others, I would vote luminova, but it's tough to tell.

Stretching for a clue here... But is there lume on that dial? It looks like the lume was removed, which could be a flag that it has seen a service center that scraped the tritium from the dial, possibly making it more likely that the hands were swapped as well.

Definitely lume on the dial and the hands have an off white colour to them.

Hands definitely don't look like a match to the dial in that photo. Check if the dial lume and the hand lume take a similar charge and glow for a similar length. The lume on my -74 only holds a charge for less than 10 seconds.

As the Luminova hands are really "green", my guess would be late 90's tritium service hands.

This is a 76 with all Tritium, dial lume looks alike but hands are clearly different and more aged than your hands. Glows around 30-45 seconds after charging. Looks like your hands are Luminova.

Hmmmm...my hands look very similar to yours in that photo just without the green tinge. I have never seen an off white luminova on an Omega just the mint green super-luminova.

Are you saying that superluminova can also be found in an off white colour? I really thought that superluminova service hands were mint green. I suppose they could be tinted to suit, but that seems an odd thing to do.

Superluminova is typically a bright off-white color that can have an ever-so-faint tinge of green. And, yes, sometimes it can be very green.
An entirely different scenario is this: vintage Speedmasters with new handsets installed that are color-matched to the Tritium hour markers.

Several vintage service and refinishing places offer lume-matching with degraded tritium... prices are very reasonable and results quite attractive .

Glow for 5 minutes? Your hoping for a different answer if you don’t understand what that means.

They are luminova no Tritium is going to do that.

    Lol. True.

I was hoping that because they didn't look green

SL doesn’t always look green, not under strong light. It looks greener under low light.
