Having moved on from a 145.012 from a sketchy seller in Peru
    https://omegaforums.net/threads/spe...-67-reality-check-on-a-piece-from-peru.51116/

I'm now looking at a 145.022-71 on eBay. It has the stepped dial, the 1039 bracelet with correct date code , 861 movement, correct stamping in the case, correct engraved medallion case back, appears to be original DN90 bezel. Not a dealer watch. Private seller

Seems to check out and I very much like the appearance... EXCEPT the hands all look too white / new. Pics are attached.

Input from experts is MUCH appreciated. I'm admittedly new to the old Omega game... Many thanks

Looks really nice, the hands look like they have some patina on them, so I wouldn't be too worried. 32M serial is in range for this reference as well. It's a really nice '71, I'd go for it.

    Good luck.

Looks good. Delrin brake on it. Hands appear to match the lume on the dial. I'd want a natural light shot to double check the lume. As noted though the lume matches so it would not throw any flags.

73 is right around the delrin change, or it could be a late 70's early 80's service.

It's the steel brake, not the plastic one...

I concur, looks steel to me. Case back is correct serif 'D' and tall 'W', short tail 'Q'. I had one a while back that I sold, the bracelet should be either very late dated or not dated as this is the era where the date stamp stopped. If it's early, then it's likely an addition.

Bracelet is date coded 3 71
I assume that's late? My understanding is the 1039 bracelet would be correct for the watch through 71

Looks like there is overlap in '71-'72.

That would be an acceptable date. Yes, the 1039 can be correct for a '71. There is another bracelet that is also acceptable on a later '71 but my knowledge ends after the 1039/516 era. Someone else here knows, I'm sure....

Thanks again for all the input gents, I really appreciate it

Been visiting the photos intermittently... a recent peek has me thinking ... Is that a replacement bezel insert??? The reason I ask is because it seems slightly... off-kilter. More specifically, it appears (in italics, 'cause photos can be deceiving) that on the right side of the dial, the TACHYMETER font and numbers sit too far inward.. as in too close to the dial.. and as a result, it appears as if parts of the "5 in "500" and parts of the "4" in "400" are cut off.

Thoughts? Am I seeing things? Is this common? Not a big deal 'cause it's just a DNN bezel not a DON bezel? I'm of the mind that (particularly with this reference where there still seems to be a decent but dwindling supply of nice examples) it's better to $tretch a little bit for the most original and best example I can find

    again, thanks for the input

I see no bezel issues, but if you have concerns I will trade you a brand new insert from a few years back and 200 bucks. ;)

Ha! I don't even have it and already a great offer / opportunity. Thanks again for the advice.

meanwhile, ebay auction is still ongoing... and either I'm being paranoid or there appears to be some shill bidding going on (Posted a separate thread on it as I don't know how to suss out whether that's what's happening with the auction)

    never easy... is it?

Hint it's not a great offer ;) I was making the point that it's a great bezel.
