Just received back from service: So removing the protection, we see a beautiful vintage dial and handset. This is the most important to me. The bezel is correct DN90 and is correct for the watch. Acquired by me as part of a small lot - I already have this example and so I am selling this one. Service is just completed and Swiss Time Services will honour the TWO YEAR (!) guarantee to the new purchaser. Watch was fully serviced and is waterproof - so I have not opened the back to show the movement. I can tell you it looks lovely, and it is correct. Part of the Omega service QC is to make sure the movement looks up to standard as well as performing. So I don't want to break the water seal. Pushers and crown were replaced - this ensures waterproofing. Excuse the finger prints! Rear carries smooth back with acid etched Hippocampus Case was VERY lightly refinished to brush the sides and generally clean it up. It has not removed any metal and not a refinished case. It still has the original lines - just cleaner. I am a private collector who rarely sells. When I do, most of the time my watches sell very quickly, and to the first person that PM's me with the words, "I will buy this watch now at your price". In the past several people have been upset because although they are the first to reply, they ask if I can do a better price - meanwhile someone has agreed my price. Watch is currently located in UK but I am going to Chicago on Monday and can post from there to USA. I welcome a Face to Face, either near Guildford in UK before Monday or Chicago. I am also going to HK if that helps. Price is £3850 to me - bank wire preferred to my HK bank or Paypal - but you know what you have to do for PP. (At today's rate that is USD $5060 but UK price is dominant) I am a private seller and I will only accept returns if not as described. Please check the forum for any references.
Sale Agreed. Actually I am a bit sad...but I promised Mrs Fruit only one of each reference until the new kitchen is in....
That is why I collect speedmasters ... They all look the same to her ... I think she thinks I have only two watches Ed and a professional
It's a beautiful thing when a watch like this passes through an astute collector who can improve it in every way, and pass it on down to the next person for a whole new life. This could have easily gone a different way.
@JohnSteed has circled his calendar with SF arrival date in Hong Kong. Meeting him at the airport with a name placard?
