    Hi guys,

I am just about to pull the trigger on a really nice 145.012 - 68 SP but I am not sure about the bezel as it has the B2 type, which was used by omega only after 1970. What is your experience with this? The seller is claiming that the watch is in its original state. Omega being omega is it possible that the B2 bezel has been mounted on a late 145.012 reference?

    thanks
    Luka

No. It’s not in its original state, and it should be priced accordingly.

Worth anywhere from $1000-3000 less than a watch still with the original bezel depending on how knocked about a replacement original would be. The seller is either not in possession of the full facts or is being deceitful.

That’s not even a B2 bezel (which is worth a bit more then that one)...further price adjustment required.

Dial has no more lume on it. Case looks lightly polished (seen worse). Service crown. All detracting factors.

At $9k chf (found it on C24) without the correct bezel for that package I would pass. To make the bezel correct will put you up around the $12k mark ... which is getting close to perfect condition 145.012's.

@mr_yossarian might have something much better for you...

I am certainly interested. Where are you guys from? I am looking for a seller from Europe because customs are a pain where I come from.

Indeed. I was considering this deal because the seller is from EU and they offered me a good trade in deal for my PO. But as you guys helped me realise the deal was too good to be true :)

Another thing that is off. A 26079xx will most likely Date it to around March/April 1968 which is a 67. Production dates for the 68 Version should be later. It's so easy to slap on a 68 caseback and ask for a premium because it's supposed to be rare. Seen that a couple of times.

Totally agree. The 68's serial numbers started at 2655xxxx. So, too early for a 68. Looks like a put together watch.

???. I just stated they start at 2655xxxx, and then you say yours is 26551. The OP said it is a 145.012-68 and that was what I was replying about. My 321-68's serial is 26553xxx and yes there were some in the 27m range, but I only stated where the 68's started. The OP's watch in question has a 145.012-68 case back with a 260xxxxx serial number. Just stating that it is too early for a 68.

Yes I realised what I posted is ambiguous, hence I binned it! To be fair, where the -68s started isn’t clear, how are you sure it is 26.55m? I do agree that 26.0 sounds dodgy for a -68 tho as I am pretty sure when I looked into it I settled on the 68s starting in October at the earliest. It doesn’t help of course that the 67 and 68 marked models overlapped to a certain extent.

    I
I'm not 100% sure, but I have never seen one with any earlier serial than 2655xxxx. I just used it to show how far off the OP's serial was from known 68 numbers, and how it was highly improbable that it was a 68. Or, could it be a movement from a Seamaster Chrono? Who knows?
