I just had something fairly rare pop up in my auction alerts but it's not of interest to me right now so I thought I might share and give some of you a chance to see it. It's a 145.012 DON with racing dial. It's rough; the bracelet's wrong; the lume on the hands has deteriorated badly; the crystal's marked and there's a bad scratch on the bezel ... but it looks to be as honest as it comes. Here's the link if anyone wants more details: https://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb/...aign=auction-alert&utm_content=lot-image-link Edit: I've poured over the one photograph that's in the online catalogue and I no longer think the bracelet is wrong. Obviously it's damaged ... but I think it's period correct.
The serial number is also wrong.... I know this because it's on a 145.012 that's on my wrist as I type! I emailed the auction house explaining this and a lady replied stating she would look into this asap and get back to me.
So I gathered from reading the other thread about this watch. As I read around the watch, there's a reference in "Moonwatch Only" to this being made in 1969 while Fratelli's say it was produced only in 1968. I'm not going to give an opinion outside of the fact that the condition of the watch makes it look really honest and fresh to market.
