Good deal to be had on this. I'm in no way affiliated with this or the seller, but I own one of these and love it: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1969s-OVER...456963?hash=item467c613883:g:G4UAAOSwhOxZ8MlWPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Nice, but the lumedots are gone on the Dial.. and for Some reason I think the Endlinks are not for this model...
i opted for a leather strap because the mesh bracelet was too big and heavier with this large large chronostop on my small wrist. here it is -
Incorrect end links, washed (rather unattractive) dial, incorrectly refinished brushing on the case. Very polished caseback. Are these really that expensive?
Most recent completed listing on eBay: "SOLD May 4, 2018Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Omega Seamaster Chronostop 1967 - Calibre 865 Chronograph - ServicedPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Pre-Owned · OMEGA · Men's $1,890.57" Some sell much lower due to the polished case, incorrect parts, wear, etc. Been following them since I got mine in 2014.
Depends on which metal band. Did you try the one I had pictured "shark mesh"? It's extremely form fitting and yet breathes. I found leather to be too sticky to the skin, not breathable. I like the look of these on black leather, no doubt, though.
i had a chance from a friend, and perhaps i should have get it. yeah it fits really well for this watch. but omega mesh bracelet like yours is quite hard to find and maybe too pricey.
I also had it at one point on the Omega Nato, which I still have, but it definitely adds bulk to the overall size of the watch/band combo on your wrist. I felt like I need to destroy it, really break it in, to get the feel I was looking for.
I think you may be looking through the wrong end of the telescope here. Unlike the 34mm version these are very wearable and feel modern but with a massive dose of ‘60s charm. They offer a lot of the same design cues and feel as a Speedy and do share a lot of DNA, they even have genuine echos of the Ultraman (unlike most red hand Speedy Frankens). Ignoring the rather nasty one in the OP listing above, Is a good one worth 4 figures? IMO yes. Would I prefer one to any Mk Series Speedy? Personally, Yes. Declaration of vested interest :
pretty nice one too. actually this is one of my fave omegas because of the sunken dial, sort of a reverse piepan.
Well, I am big fan of the Mk II Speedmaster and can certainly see the appeal of a lot slightly leftfield Omegas, but the Chronostops have never appealed to me. I think their limited functionality and relatively high price makes me back off - there are a number of one-minute chronos I prefer instead, such as the Citizen Recordmaster. The size issue really isn't for me as I have, ahem, vintage-friendly wrists Great condition, but a pretty bad example as it didn't sell... The one below is the most recent sold listing, but can't see how much it sold for: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Omega-vintage-chronostop-145-007-cal-865-/222899640599?hash=item33e5da9917:g:6UcAAOSwUDlaq6m0&nma=true&si=ITUwFoqT4ACo11JsqhQQyt%2F3ia4%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network No bracelet, but far better condition than the watch in the OP.
That is a nice one. If it sold anywhere near the €1400 asking then it does rather support a 4 figure (€ or£) price level. Of course he may have accepted a much lower offer, who knows.
I think his point was that the sale was under offer accepted so you can't see what the exact price was, it'll be lower than the BIN.
It was sold for EUR 1,120 according to the purchase history. I'm very interested in these. Love the aesthetic, but haven't held one in-hand and worried they wear a little large... Most wrist shots I see look like it wears bigger than a speedy, but no one that owns them seem to think so...
About the same I would say. The reason I prefer them to the Mk series and Flightmasters of similar era is the depth, they are quite slim vs those other contemporaries which would feel like a boat anchor/door jamb magnet on my wrist. I think they are clearly underrated but if @ConElPueblo doesn't like them though I may be wrong since he rarely is!
I didnt realise these were getting those sorts of prices, I have a standard 145.007 and a modded blue dialed one, the size i really like.
