First and foremost, as it’s a newbie speaking here, Hello Everyone and thanks for all the knowledge and enthusiasm in this forum. I hope starting a new thread was a right thing to do and I didn’t violate any of the house rules. If I did, sorry, rookie mistake. To the point, recently on a local online marketplace I came across this Connie. It appears to be a ref. CK 14381, judging by two line text and lyre-shaped lugs. Seller claims it was family owned, he has never opened nor serviced it but it’s in running condition. Overall it looks a little fatigued but what actually bothers me is that I haven’t been able to find another one in this dial and case configuration, namely dome dial with those indices instead of baton ones, with crosshairs, in a case with this type of lugs. Other issues I see are: replacement crown and a slightly misaligned star. What’s your opinion on this one. Is it a correct set or a redial/franken ? Thanks a lot for your help! P.S. Sorry for the crappy photos but that’s all I have.
Hi, Welcome to the forum, I think you have found a nice example and certainly wouldn’t call it fatigued. Dial & case are in nice condition. As you note it just needs an original crown to make it complete.
Thanks a lot for all the info. Seller is asking aprox. $700 so I guess it's quite a deal. With reassurance from you guys I'm going to pull the trigger. Thanks once again!
I thought @watchyouwant ’s price was optimistic nowadays - so absolute bargain. this reference wears incredibly well on the wrist. great for casual wear and equally at home under a shirt cuff.
I’m lucky to have found it. Am I a right that the correct crown for this ref. is decagonal one #4204? Where do you think is the best to look for them and what a fair price would be?
