Pictures please. Links tend to die.

Quartz watches are not the most desirable to some collectors. Although the do hold some value as they can be more affordable than the mechanical. There is a perception that electronics are disposable.

Any watch will eventually need parts replaced. Unless it sits in a climate vault. Even then oils and gaskets will deteriorate.

There are a few of us what do collect on the low end of things. I am told that in car circles there is a class of modifications called rat-rods. Which refer to ratty but beloved restorations. Back in the day people mixed car parts up to make so called hot-rods.

Frankin is a vulgar term when intended to deceive. Some prefer the term fantasy watch. Rat-watches do not quite have the same cachet.

If the watch is one you want to collect wear and enjoy then do what it takes to keep it going. If one is looking to flip something for a quick profit quartz watches are probably not the best item to experiment with.
