14060M on a Rubber Strap?

Been looking at Rubber straps for a 14060M. Rubber B and Everest make ones that utilise the original deployant clasp. They look good but are in the region of US$220. Does anyone have one of these, are they worth the money?
I have a Crafter Blue on an MM300 that is top quality, it cost US$75. It just appears to me that they are taking the piss asking US$220 for two bits of rubber. However much they hug the case or integrate themselves to the superior Rolex designed case.
Even an Isofrane is US$150. The vented design may be a bit cooler and not as sweaty but the buckles are bulky. Anybody have one of these and like it?

I bought an Everest leather strap with solid end links for my 16700 GMT a few yrs ago - it was ok, but leather is very thick and still hasnt taken the shape of my wrist.

And The end links certainly do not lie flat to the case underside. - see below

I know use the jubilee and a simpler strap from Hodinkee - also shown

Borealis makes a wonderful very high quality strap like the Isofrane for a much lower price. I have first-hand experience with it and the rubber is very soft and flexible, but not crappy dust-collecting silicone - it's real rubber. If you want to give that type of strap a try, I highly recommend it.

I much prefer a diver (Subc, PO, SMPc, ...) on it's bracelet instead of a strap. Maybe that's a personal taste, or more people that have this opinion?

I like the Scurfa rubber straps from Toxic Natos. Best rubber strap I have ever used. $25.

I've never been a fan of rubber straps in general, and on a Sub, no way.

When I owned an Explorer II, I got a Rubber B strap for it and was very happy with it. They are expensive, but they fit the watch perfectly. I sold the watch a couple of years ago, something I regret now.

I've put an Everest on my 116523 and I really like it. Quality is superb, fits really well. No negatives at all so far. IMG_20181005_090727~2.jpg IMG_20181107_092506_419.jpg

I read this somewhere else. They are out of stock at the moment. I might just wait until they are available again.

It's OK at this time of year but in the hot season I sweat like a hooker in Church. It's also very dusty. That limits the choice in straps somewhat. Leather is out, not a big fan of NATOs and once the bracelet is wet and gets dust and crap on it it's an effective grinding paste. Rubber is easy to keep clean. I usually wear a Seiko diver on a Rubber strap at that time of year. Just thought a rubber strap on a Sub would give me another option. Now a rubber strap on a Speedy I wouldn't do.

I'll see when the Borealis ones will be available again. If it's a while I may order the ToxicNato Magnum. US$60 for free shipping so might get a few straps.

I don't own one but the shop I'm part time working with at the moment stocks them (RubberB) so I handled a few in the shop and saw them on a lot of Daytonas, Subs, and especially Milgauss models.
I installed one myself on a customers watch and was very very impressed with the fit and finish, both between the lugs/case and with the original rolex clasp.
So from that point of view I'd say that they are pricy but worth the money. I have no experience with long term ownership though and can't say how durable they are over time.

    Cheers,

    Max

20mm Black Borealis straps should be available in the next few weeks for anyone that is interested.

At the moment I have three watches on Rubber B. Perfect fit around the case face and back and on the lugs. These 3 straps also fit the Sub 16610, GMT 16710 and SeaDweller 16600 all 40mm (not that I own all of those ;)). The strap fitted to the Rolex clasp tapers down from 20mm down to 15mm, the other two taper down from 20mm down to 18mm. The difference in taper is obvious on the group photo. Made of a soft, flexible rubber and wears very comfortable on the wrist. 20181121_145444.jpg 20181121_145501.jpg 20181121_145522.jpg 20181121_145609.jpg

They are butterfly clasps. Hadley Roma. I prefer them over the tang buckles the strap comes with.
