Hi, I thought I would share a couple of pictures of a watch I just bought. I have owned a couple of the center second counters in the past but never one that was so clean as this one.
The case and dial are very nice but the movement is what really blew me away. It looks like it may have just come from the factory, quite amazing.
I believe it was made in 1945 which coincidentally is when I was born so that was the icing on the cake.
I contacted the Longines heritage Dept and sent them pictures so I can get Archive papers, do they issue them?
I am also in the hunt for a vintage strap, buckle and box. Trying to make this as complete as possible.

Thank you for sharing these images. Do you believe that the running seconds hand is correct? I was under the impression that it should look like the one below but I have limited experience with this reference.

Just perusing your IG page and saw a couple of -12s (below). Are these the ones you are referring to? I do not intend to come off as contentious but I am curious as the hands look different.

Yes they are ones I had in the past. The hands on the steel versions looked similar to me with the exception of the tail on the sub-second hand unless I am missing something. They are also the same on the ones in Goldbergers book.
The hands on the gold version totally different than the steel version but again they match up to the ones in Goldbergers book

I was only referring to the running seconds hand. I have seen other 23086s with a circular counterbalance style of hand but the design seen on your other one seems to be more prevalent and, in my opinion, more aesthetically coherent given its consistency with the chronograph seconds hand. Anyway, I appreciate the dialogue.

Is that gold example legit, then? I've never seen this caliber in a gold case like that before. Very, very interesting.

A 13zn-12 is something Ive long coveted and stupidly let slip through my generally greedy, sticky fingertips when they were merely expensive.
    Love-ly!
    Enjoy it.

I think you speak for many of us. For me there seems to be a monetary threshold on vintage that these have long passed.
