The 1171 bracelet is a true classic that has been on the market since the early 70s. Initially with screwed links, later with push pins. And over time with different clasp covers, it stayed the same. Simple, clean - understated and versatile. This thread is about the versatility of the 1171 bracelet. What references was it for? Which end links was it combined with? And what other combinations work? According to this table, the 1171 bracelet was used with no less than 20 references. https://omegaforums.net/threads/case-bracelet-endpiece-list.81618/ 145.0012 / 1171/633 / SPEEDMASTER PROFESSIONAL, 1966 145.0022 / 1171/633 / SPEEDMASTER PROFESSIONAL, 1968 145.0024 / 1171/175 / Seamaster (Jedi), 1970 165.0024 / 1171/633 / Seamaster 300, 1962 166.0024 / 1171/633 / Seamaster 300, 1966 166.0071 / 1171/175 or 699 / Seamaster Memomatic, 1969 166.0087 / 1171/648 / Seamaster, 1970 166.0088 / 1171/650 / Seamaster 120m, 1969 166.0089 / 1171/650 / Seamaster, 1971 166.0090 / 1171/175 / 1171/699 / Seamaster, 1971 166.0110 / 1171/648 / Seamaster, 1971 166.0111 / 1171/650 / Seamaster, 1971 166.0128 / 1171/676 / COSMIC 2000, 1972 166.0129 / 1171/676 / Seamaster Cosmic 2000, 1972 166.0130 / 1171/677 / Seamaster Cosmic, 1972 166.0131 / 1171/677 / Seamaster Cosmic, 1972 166.0132 / 1171/175 / Seamaster Cosmic, 1972 166.0133 / 1171/175 / Seamaster Cosmic, 1972 176.0005 / 1171/175 / Seamaster (Jedi), 1972 196.0081 / 1171/735 / Seamaster Quartz, 1977 Here are my first examples. Great thread. I love wearing my Speedmasters on a 1171. It is a robust bracelet with a great design. Older occurrences (11) of that bracelet have a better look & feel than the later modern ones (32) imo.
It's a nice looking bracelet for sure, but I wish you were able to take more links out of the 6 o'clock side. When I wore mine, the clasp was too far away from the center
Lets not big it up too much. It was actually a service bracelet for many (most?) of the combinations shown in the original post, it wasn't around when the 1960s models were current after all. I have owned several 1171s inc a brand new one. It is of its time, and that time was the Omega dark ages of the 1970s so don't expect modern quality standards or build. It feels light on the wrist and the fit and finish can be patchy. Not trying to rain on any parade, it is great that you can go into a boutique and buy a brand new vintage bracelet for your SM300 or Speedy Pro but the reality is build quality has come on leaps and bounds and the circa £400/$450 being asked for these now seems toppy bearing in mind Seiko (or Uncle Seiko) can do it better for $100.
I've been really intrigued by various Speedmaster bracelet options lately. I'm not particularly enamored with vintage, but I LOVE the simpler look. I wish the 1171 or 1450 were more affordable.
Some more pics: Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 2201.50.00 on 1171/633 bracelet. Great for small wrists!
I have only had my speedmaster for a month but have a feeling that I will be on the lookout for a 1171 bracelet. Thanks for the pictures!
to those more knowledgeable, will a 676 endlinks fit a Speedmaster (in my case late 90s trit). Many thanks
Looks good on an ST1 (or the other way around actually!)... which actually looks good on pretty much everything actually, but still!
