    hello

I’m looking to pick up a 1171 bracelet which I’d like to use on my moonwatch (modern).

I’ve always loved the look of this bracelet. Ideally the 1450 but afaik omega don’t sell this anymore.

I want the 1171 to go on both my moonwatch and FOIS. Can I achieve this with 633 end links and 560 end links (for FOIS)?

I’d prefer not to swap spring bars or worry about a tight fit (case scratches).

Before I order I’d just like to check I’ve picked the right combos.

    Thanks

Ps the 1125 is very much an option too. I just can’t find much info on it.

It’s the vintage look I’m after, almost like the rounded president bracelet.

I use my 1125 bracelet with 560 end links on some watches and with 633's on my speedmasters. Fits perfectly for me.

I’m not sure which one to go for - due to sizing

1171 - 20mm and great for the pro but 1mm wider for the FOIS

1125 - 19mm and ideal for the FOIS but no idea how it would work on pro. Plus it seems to come with 636 endlinks where as I need 633 and 560

617 links also work in the 19mm 1125 and some say are a better fit than the 560s. If you are buying new you can choose from either.

To my eye the 1125 and 1171 look pretty much the same but obv different sizes. I suspect but haven’t checked that you can’t just swap the endlinks.

My pair below, both have some wear and stretch:

1171 won't work no matter what end links are used. I tried on my ck2998. The lugs are too long and the 1171 bracket is too wide.

    Thanks for confirming

I thought as much. I think I’ll just get it to go with my moonwatch for now. Then I’ll add the 1125 and 560/617 if I decide the ck case watches deserve a bracelet.

    Final decision made, thanks all!

1171 is too wide. Get a 1125 for the FOIS

    Yes I enquires recently

Comes with 617 or I think 560 end links - 560 as I gather might be easier to fit / swap

Here seems to be a decent place to tell my story. As it happens I have a 1172 with 515 endlinks that I had in storage since I purchased a 1970 C-Shape Connie last year. I also have a FOIS. I went in on Wednesday to my AD to ask them to see if the bracelet would fit the FOIS, and at first glance it seemed to work nicely.

Excuse my eczema I'm having a bit of a breakout. Anyway, it had a decent heft to it, and wore well. It looked pretty great too...

However, what I hadn't noticed about this bracelet before was that one of the links appears to be missing. The link at 12 O'Clock was a millimeter or so thinner than the link at 6 O'Clock - so I am assuming the previous owner had it removed for fitting, and it wasn't reattached when the sold it on.

    Capture2.JPG

What this meant - and what the AD didn't seem to notice when attaching it - was the link at 6 O'Clock was just a tiny, tiny bit too wide for the lugs. It would squeeze in at a push, but daily wear would inevitably lead to tiny scratches on the edge of the lug. Probably not even noticeable to the naked eye, but frankly I wasn't having it, and rushed back before they closed that day to reattach the original leather bracelet.

To be honest I hadn't intended to keep it on in any case, as the metal bracelets aren't really my bag. The endlinks were not a good fit in any case. But I thought I'd try it for a few days and let you guys know how it went. I guess now you do. D

EDIT - It occurs to me now that more appropriate end-links that would be flush with the lug would probably work nicely and prevent the 6 O'Clock link scratching the lug, missing link or no.
