    Hi OF
so.... just picked these up from eBay, delivered from Italy. In original packaging but already opened.
Feels extremely cheap and flimsy, I mean look at the stretch?
Can anybody tell me if the parts are genuine or not?? Any advise would be greatly received

It’s a modern 1171/633 that can be bought from any OB new, today. That’s what they are like.

yup....feels like the old Rolex ones. "Nice" that Omega has "preserved" this vintage feel.....if you like it. IF not find a 1450/1479/1498(9) that are much more substantial.

You might need to file the end links a bit...

Yeah I'm glad they still make it too but the quality is rubbish to put it nicely. My AD got me one for about £300 and I replaced it within a week with a 1499. They also don't fit on the current 1861 Speedmasters properly - you either have to force the end links on and scratch the lugs a bit or file them down.

The older 633's work just fine

That's good to know if I ever considered one again. The 1171/1 also can't be made any smaller than about 6.2 inches with every link removed on the smallest clasp hole so it constantly slides around a 5.9 inch wrist like mine whereas 1499 goes down to about 6. The choice was either sell it or remove a permanent link so I just sold it.

It kind of put me off ever trying a 1450 or 1479 because I don't think vintage bracelet's were ever made to suit small wrists like the 1498(9), 1998 or 1957 current ones are.

With patience it can be made to fit perfectly. The loose feel and noise is something you will need to get used to. It put me off at first but I like mine now.

Two threads on the same subject...?

It’ll be great on one of those vintage Speedys you have. You’ll soon get to appreciate the feel.
