10 months on the list (just before demand went insane) and a call Friday to say one has arrived for me, so had to collect today. Of course!! :0)
I have 2 different local AD I use and have been lucky to purchase so far this year a SD 50th anniversary from one and this lovely Hulk from the other. BUT..... here’s my winge. The SD 50th i bought in Feb had the papers kept by the dealer for 6 months and stickers taken off. Today with the Hulk they wanted to keep the paper for a whole year and the stickers taken off!!
These are minor things I know but for some reason today part of the experience was lacking :0( I understand why they are trying these new methods and for me personally I don’t flip or deal but when do you draw the line????? In 5 years time will they literally keep everything except the watch itself and keep everything for 5 years!??? Hahaha.
OVER THE MOON WITH THE HULK THOUGH ;0) 425B8177-5FF7-48A2-8E73-F649136B4FBA.jpeg

Rolex are a law unto themselves but there's nothing right about this. You pay your money and you should have outright title to the goods. It's not just Rolex and their dealers, though. Did I mention here how Goldsmiths wanted me to pay a £1900 deposit just to try on a blue faced Cellini they had in stock? I'm an existing customer of theirs who's bought from them before! I won't be buying from them again, though.

What!!!!!! A deposit just to try on? Absolutely insane. One of the dealers I use is a Goldsmiths, good luck if they ask me! Haha. I always try one or two other watches on every time I go

I don't see how keeping papers can be legal. Please name the dealer, send them (and Rolex) a link to this thread, review them on yelp, etc.

Simple solution. Don't buy. Policy will change in very short order.

Fuck these fucking fucks. Oh...wait. Their toys their rules. On the other hand you asked to be on the list. How bad do you want it? How bad do you want to be one of them? You can't have it both ways. Just say no. Or not.

    Have fun

It’s more annoying than anything else but certainly not worth falling out with the AD’s

    Seriously!?

How does that work? You hand them £1900 in cash or charge a card and then you try on the watch. When you leave like 15 minutes later they refund the money back to you?

More crappy customer service from Rolex ad’s......love the watch well done, but this is why I love omega they want my custom and treat me very well, if this type of customer service continues then at some point people will stop buying and loving Rolex

Same sales assistant (possibly even a manager of some description) who suggested I should allow them to service the old Speedmaster I was wearing one day and put a nice shiny new black bezel on it to "bring it back". The watch had only just come back from STS...

    IMG_20170129_1203364.jpg

The same outlet also refinished the dial on a beautiful 1940s Tudor a friend of mine left with them for a "mechanical service only". After destroying the soul (and value) of that watch, they did agree to not charge for the work.

    Be careful out there!

I felt like counting out the cash in front of her. Instead, I thanked her for her time and left.

It would be interesting for the police to get a whiff of that policy, and then start sending around undercover investigators of different ethnic backgrounds.

Sorry, I didn't intend to imply anything personal. It's just that the policy seems very prone to abuse.

    Ha! No implications inferred!

To give this some context, I was wearing just an old pair of jeans and a shirt .... though I did have a few thousands on my wrist. (And I'm 6'4", white, with a ragged beard).

Pretty sure the stickers and card is UK only thing though right? Friend picked up Daytona after being on list since start last week, in stickers with card, but that's in CZ.

I think UK is the worst coz Rolexes are so goddamn cheap there, I am buying few years old watches that are like 25% under retail here and they are like 5% off UK retail
