    Hi All
My original 69 speedy came with a 1098 bracelet. I read the 1116 was standard. These bracelets appear identical. Has anyone heard of this?
I've seen other examples on the next like mine

There are some previous threads on this topic. Search 1098 bracelet and you'll see them

    bracelet width: 1098 < 1116 < 1117
in fact 1116 is about 0.5mm wider than 1098.
    1098 is for 19mm lug
    1116 is for 20mm lug
    1117 is for 22mm lug
but 1098 does fit 575 20mm endlinks for speedmasters

Sorry can you example this further.
My watch was purchased from Spain and the previous owner advised this was the original bracelet. As mentioned almost identical to a 1116

Further? When buying your speedmaster or seamaster you had the choice between eg Corfam strap or Bracelet. And it was done by the dealer. My guess is that if they had no more stock of 1116, they would fit a 1098.
It's difficult to have any proof 50 years later and sellers say whatever makes you happy..

    This sounds right to me.
So the dealer receives the watch without a bracelet from Onega.
Would not having an original 1116 on my watch devalue it?
It appears the 1098 is not standard on the speedy

The way i see it: The watch head has its value and the bracelet another. Compare the prices of the bracelets and you know the difference. Of course, it would not be ideal if you try to sell the watch with the "wrong" bracelet.

By the way: do you have pics of that watch?

    Hi

    It's a 69 Speedy
    Made in July 1970
It has the rare 220 bezel
My dad purchased almost new from a person in Spain in late 1970.
As mentioned it already had the 1098 bracelet

I purchased a 145-012 some years ago with an unusual bracelet that I was assured came with the watch. Can't recall the number offhand but the fit was not quite right, closer to 19mm and so slight gaps on the end pieces. Anyhow after lots of debate people seem to think it was more properly for a sea master. Point being aside from the dealer, the purchaser could also make their own choices for a non standard bracelet.

Just arrived to this post while looking for a 1116 bracelet.
What is your interpretation of "SAME AS MODEL ... 1116,1117, and 1118"?
