Here is one I agonized about selling. It is lovely. I think there is no better one on the market today. Unfortunately, as our house nears completion and the bills mount up Mrs Fruit is being very reasonable but we have to let go of watches where I have multiple examples of the same reference. Absolutely wonderful example of how a vintage watch should be. Original, in very good condition and all correct, inside and out. It has an exceptional grey Bezel, correct original pushers, and sharp facet lines on the case. Everything you want in a Cental Boites cased example. It has retained the original pushers. A perfect dial. It is not NOS but it is definitely what I consider collector grade. Here are the sides: Not perfect but very, very good and to my knowledge this has not been polished. And the back: Bracelet is a correct 1039 marked 4/68 Movement is serviced by STS on T44948 3 December 2015. Because pushers and crown were retained it is not waterproof. Why am I selling? Well I have another one as good - that one has papers so it won the "who is staying" race. As anyone who knows me through this forum knows, Mrs Fruit is getting a house and its costing me a fortune. I don't use banks to keep my wealth, I use objects and speedmasters are part of my wealth storage. Who am I? I am a enthusiastic private collector, holding a large number of watches. Up until now I rarely sell, and indeed what I am selling is a small proportion. I remain deeply committed to collecting. I sell only when I need to finance something else. I do not acquire watches to profit, but to collect. Of course I welcome an uplift when I sell, but it is not my motive. I have many references here on this forum, and I wrote the site www.speedmaster101.com. My reputation is extremely important to me. Terms Price is £12,500, Payment by Bank Wire, in UK pounds sterling to my company account in Hong Kong, or Crypto currency. (HSBC compelled me to acquire my special objects through a company account, as the amounts were varying, unpredictable, and they would not let me do it through my private account. So thats why you have to send it to my company). If you are uncomfortable with this, then I will wait until you are. Or come and meet me. Returns While they are not welcomed, I will take it back if you are seriously miserable and very, very nice about it. Obviously you have to pay the shipping, and get it back to me in the same condition as I sent it. And it has to be before I have had time to hand the money over to Mrs Fruit. (So about a week, no more). Delivery Face to face is welcome, in UK, GU8 area. UK delivery is by registered Mail, insured to 2500. I think a watch of this value I would prefer to hand it over to you. So I will happily try to meet up. Otherwise I can ship in USA via parcel pro after 25th April or any other way you want. Or Face to face in Chicago after 25th. (Ill be there a week) Ironically I can ship in USA for full insurance cover.
Dear Mr SF The perfect example IMHO....now this really will be an interesting gauge of where the Market is.... GLWTS - Best - Neil
Beautiful! That is my Grail, but sadly I spent way too much on watches this past year. Congratulations in advance to whoever buys this.
Stunning. I think these CB's seem to be slightly more prone to having faded/grey bezels than other references and it gives them a wonderful look.
Some more side angle views as requested. I used side lighting to deliberately accentuate any imperfections.
Good lord!!!... That is a wonderful example of this Omega Speedmaster reference with lovely well defined CB case facets.
Actually I feel back on form. I like to set my prices so the watch sells in a few hours, and so I dont have to deal with offers. This watch is going to a great home.
