I'm thinking that too... still the bits are worth something.

The serial number is not an issue, according to one of the authors of "the book", serial numbers of 105.003s could go into the 26.554.xxx range, see here.
    Mine is 25.449.xxx.

The serial is fine, I have had plenty of 105.003s in the 25xxxxxx range, confirmed as selling in 1967, the 105.003s also featured in Omega catalogues in 1967.

according to Omega archives, there are very few 105.003 in 25.00x range: only 40 in the 25.004.xxx range

It's being sold at auction my Astor. If everything lined up, the sun and the moon, wouldn't thyey have that verified and say so? Or sell it through their website?

I have interest in it, but I want one that is 100% original, correct, and near mint if possible. It may take time to find that.

My point is that if everything is original, I would think they would say what it is to command a better price. I didn't see them doing so, which in my mind would make me suspicious or assume it's not original. As I said, for me to find one that is 100% original, correct, and near mint will take a lot of time and patience.

But maybe there is more, Spacefruit. The student is listening.
