But, quote: "...Finding a vintage Speedmaster with box and papers is getting rarer each day." ..should probably too say "a attractive", but then no one could relate it to the offered one..
That bezel is suspiciously crisp…in comparison to the dial IMHO ‘prepared’ More credible, if the sentence read : “Finding a vintage Speedmaster with original box and original papers is getting rarer each day.”
Personal feeling is we'll see this set auctioned again in a couple of years with a super nice brown dial and a clean set of hands fitted, listed as a killer all original with provenance
I'm not so sure that it's been 'prepared' but it isn't an attractive dial. The rest looks quite nice though.
dial looks like a failed "lets bake a tropical" , bracelet is 4 years older than the watch ??? and where is the extract confirming the papers ?
I've been asking myself why are there two warranty booklets. Now I'm more interested to know what might be 14kt in that Ed White
Agree, what on earth did they use? It almost looks like they took a black Sharpie to cover up the lume ...............
It's a shockingly bad example that. The fact they make such a big deal over the DON bezel shows that they realise it is a crock. The estimate is laughable. A good one makes good money, a shed not so much.
I don’t think the manual with the 2998 and base 1000 bezel cover was part of a 1965 production 105.003,
