Omega Speedmaster 105.003-64
Comes with 7912 bracelet, with No 6 ( Non Omega) end links

Serial Number: 22824007
£15,000.00 bank wire and delivery included USA / Europe

Provenance:
Bought by me from a Hong Kong Vintage Dealer in 2012.
It comes with Omega service receipt from 2011.
Comes with an Omega Extract dated December 2010.
It has remained in temperature and humidity controlled environment since. When I bought it it had hand made endlinks, so I replaced them with No 6 endlinks that I am sure are repro because they lack the internal ridge.

Condition:
The dial is very fine, all original. Lume is original, and better than most 105.003's.

Original Lume, on a fine dial. This shape lume is normal for 105.003. The body of the dial is in exceptional condition, and the minute track is complete and undamaged.

Dot Over 90 Bezel. Dent at "100" Worst view of the dent!
Movement is in good condition:

And all correct for year.

Healthy column wheel, screw heads undamaged.

Inner case back with number, no corrosion, and correct dust cover.

Correct Specification of pushers and crown.

7912 bracelet is serviceable but slightly loose. In use I did not notice.

What is wrong with this watch?

The bezel, while excellent, has the dent at 100.
The bracelet is original, but slightly tired. That said before I sell any of my older watches, I always wear them for a while to check everything is ok, and to be honest this bracelet is comfortable and serviceable.
The endlinks are not Omega made, but very close. Better than none, obviously.
Otherwise the only thing wrong is the price.
But compared to the rubbish 105.003's sold recently, its so far away in terms of quality and provenance that I think that is right.
This watch is honest. Unmolested.

SALES TERMS

I only sell to refocus my collection. I am not motivated by profit and so I have no reason to embellish or over describe. I have been on ebay since 2002 with 100% feedback. I have bought and sold a few watches on www.OmegaForums.net and you can find my feedback by searching my username. I am the author of Speedmaster101.com and protecting my reputation is more important to me than selling off a watch. I am not a watch dealer, I make my money elsewhere, watches are my pleasure.

Price includes insured delivery in the USA and UK, and will include delivery elsewhere unless you have some expensive needs. I can usually help with delivery.

Returns are welcome if you don't cost me anything to get it back to me and the watch is in the same condition as it arrived with you.

I am a private collector who rarely sells. When I do, most of the time my watches sell very quickly, and to the first person that PM's me with the words, "I will buy this watch now at your price".

In the past several people have been upset because although they are the first to reply, they ask if I can do a better price - meanwhile someone has agreed my price.

I am not in the slightest bit offended by offers, but remember that they will only make sense if the watch remains unsold after a few days.

Delivery can usually be facilitated almost anywhere

Payment
Payment by Bank Transfer is required for these larger amounts, I propose we both exchange ID copies and speak by phone to feel comfortable. Face to face is always welcome. Paypal is expensive, and leaves the seller vulnerable to chargebacks. If you feel you need this sort of protection from me, I completely understand, but will happily work with you until you do, rather than use paypal.

I apologize if I wasn’t clear. And I apologize to those involved.

I didn’t intend to question a sale.

I didn’t think that’s what I was doing.

Honestly, I don’t know everything. It was an honest question. I intentionally asked here and not on the thread where this watch was just withdrawn.

And I’m willing to embarrass myself by asking stupid questions in public. I’ve been caught before. That’s how I’ve learned.

And in public so others, who might be interested, can learn as well.

I’m not questioning a sale or a withdrawal. I’m trying to understand.

Maybe, I’m questioning the status of the current price chart. If they are service pushers, then that puts the recent withdrawal in a different light.

I don’t think the questions are stupid, they are misplaced.
Perhaps start a thread regarding EW original vs service pushers and crowns?
Why return to an old completed sales thread which posted plenty of pictures but made no specific reference to the crown or pushers. Obviously the interested buyers had ample information to make their decision from this sales thread. Or perhaps they questioned the seller PRIVATELY.

I stand by what I’ve already written, including the apologies.

@gemini4 : I feel like you’re twisting this into something I’d never intended.

One price was paid for a watch at a certain point in time; at another point in time, the same watch failed to make a different price. That’s all.

It’s true that until I saw my post with photos actually up, I didn’t realize how clear the photos made the issue. The photos, it turned out, answered the question.

Many here, I assume, are interested to know why a celebrated watch did not sell for what appeared to be a very reasonable ask. That’s all I’ve been trying to explore.

And it was celebrated, as the thread shows.

Obviously the interested buyers had amble information to make their decision from this sales thread.

Nothing I’ve said implied otherwise. That’s what you’re bringing to the conversation.
