This is a nice looking watch from far. It was offered to me by the seller privately this past week. He mentions nothing about it and the photo is cut off, but the serial number does not match the time period for a correct 105.003-65 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Omega-speed...024917?hash=item464d166895:g:rF8AAOSwMVFXH6qSPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Here is the photo of what he sent me directly, but has it cut off in his listing: He originally submitted to me saying its a 2998-62 with wrong hands. After explaining to him that the dial is not right for a 2998 and of course the caseback is not that either, I still made him an offer as a parts watch, but now I see its on ebay at $12,000 with no mention of serial number being wrong. Just a heads up and will save you the headache of a return.
It is a nice combination of parts, bezel looks great, case is passable, dial is excellent. It is a shame the seller has clearly and proactively chosen to attempt to misrepresent their ale by removing the option to zoom in the moment images and purposely ensuring the SN is not visible
This all seems to good to be true..... I DO like the showing of the watch on the "ticker" though ! Think I will use that with some of my own sales.................
Amplitude 353? My 2014 1861 gets 310, 1988 861 is 265, and 1970 861 is 250 (dial up, lift angle set at 50). I'm guessing he has the lift angle wrong. 321's should be set at 40.
It's clearly set for 52 - you can see it in the photo...even correcting for that error it's in the 280's, so okay. BTW your 1861 is fine, but the other 2 are low enough they likely are in need of a proper service...
