I have been leisurely pursuing a pointy handed Speedmaster for a while. Happened on this 105.002 on another forum, and after some discussion with the owner, it is now on my wrist The sub dial and center hands are 2998 style, but i rather like the look better than sticks, so am in no hurry to do a hand transplant. Some pics! With the Speedmaster family. The FOIS was my substitute till a pointy 321 showed up and is now traded away to its new owner.
TNT, yeah, it appears to be in the wrong place, it reset after i took the pics, i will keep an eye on it.
Most likely because the hand was modified to fit and maybe the tube is loose but it sure looks nice as is. Congrats for your purchase.
Very nice watch and collection! A question from a novice: the subdial hands on the new .002 are replacement ones, aren't they?
They are from an early 2998, the 002 should have stick sub dial hands. I might do a hand transplant with the correct vintage ones, but do rather like the look of the alpha hands.
I think the hands that are on there now, look nice on the watch even though incorrect for the reference.
It should have white arrow center seconds. But the silver hand matches the center hr and min hands, which matches the lume on the dial. Not difficult to replace, but i do like how it looks
