1039 flat link question - are all the inner links of the same size?

Hi all

I've recently acquired a 145.012 that came with a 1039 flat link bracelet. However the the last inner links connecting to the end links are twisted, one more than the other (see picture). My watchmaker said he could try bending them back into shape but the result would most likely not be perfect.

If I sought to replace those last inner links, are they of the same size as the adjacent ones (ignoring the tapered outer parts) or are the last inner links slightly bigger, in which case it wouldn't be worth the effort. I tried to measure them with a caliper, but since they are out of shape, I can't really tell.

Thanks for your comments.

I’m not so sure, a while ago I tried to replace the last centre link (the one that attaches the bracelet to the end link) with one of the centre links from another bracelet but the spring bars wouldn’t fit correctly. If you look from the side you’ll see the last link is more open. It might be that you can adapt one of the centre links but in that case you might as well repair the ones you have. Maybe it was an isolated incident in my case though and it generally works?

After reading this I paid more attention and indeed on most bracelets, the last center link is longer, I have a 1125 at hand and it's definitely significantly longer - I don't know about flatlinks but thanks for the insight, now before buying a bracelet I have one more thing to pay attention to

Thanks @Dash1 and @kaplan for your inputs, that's a bummer. My first step is to have my watchmaker work on the existing link anyhow. Maybe the result will look good enough for me to just live with it.
