Recently picked up a 1039/516 bracelet with no date stamped. Curious if these are earlier variations before they stamped dates or later service clasps?

I'm also interested by this thread as I have a 1035 bracelet without a date stamped.

I think unstamped date bracelets are service ones

Do we know when they date from? Still somewhat desirable?

    I believe late 60's/early 70's service items.

IIRC, In another conversation I think @abrod520 had mentioned that no-date, no-stamp 1039's were produced in '72-' 73 range (excuse me if I'm mistaken).

    Edit found it.

Yeah - I've acquired 145.022-71s from first owners before with undated 1039s. Similar to how Gay Freres stopped stamping the dates in their bracelets after 1972, it seems Omega (or their supplier) did same. It's possible they're service clasps sure, but if it's a '72-'74 Speedmaster it could well be original IMO

This one “supposedly” came off 105.012-65. I plan to put it on a 165.024 Seamaster 300

So best guess it sounds like the clasp was replaced at some point or the bracelet as a whole was sold in 1972/73?

I have seen two NOS examples recently from local sellers which leads me to believe they are service parts.

Is it difficult to find the expandable spring links? I’ve see a few on eBay, but not complete links. I’m going to want to remove the clasp extender and add a few links.

I had bought on eBay the complete links. They come up once in a while.
