Dude! 95k? Things have become extremely nutty in the Speedmaster world. And 76k without a bracelet, is still...nutty. ::screwloose::

That watch in that condition is hardly worth $9500. How can he prove that is the original bracelet?

I know Faz...nutty maybe, but if only the value of our vintage Les Pauls, 335s, Stratocasters or Byrdlands would go up that "nutty"??? ;)

I’m glad I’m keeping my 1039/516 safe. Didn’t know it costs more than my 145.012-67 LOL!

Oh my god... I have a little story to tell: ::popcorn::

Believe it or not... in 2007 I bought a Speedmaster from Finland for about 1500 €. The S/N was really really close to the Ultraman offered via the bay in the above link. It came in a pretty worn condition and was fitted with a DNN bezel and a strange orange sweep second hand... without a doubt both not original to the watch... I thought!!!
So I decided to give it to my watchmaker for fitting a "correct" teardrop counterweight sweep second hand. When picking it up again the watchmaker asked me what to do with that ugly orange second hand and I told him to throw it away because its condition was not good enough to sell... so he did. A few month later I sold the watch for about 2500€... and was very happy... at that time.

    So unknowingly and foolishly:
    a) I sold an ultra rare Ultraman for a way too low price...
    b) worse, I serviced an ultra rare Ultraman beyond reconstruction...
    c) worst, I destroyed an ultra rare Ultraman sweep second hand worth thousands of dollars

    Aaaaaargh... life can be hard
    :whipped:

Wow, that is one painful story. Do you perhaps have any pictures of the watch in question?
